Shelly 1 fan control - Shelly unreachable after fan off

  • Hi everyone,

    I am running a shelly 1 + Temperature Add-on to control a 230V fan.
The fan is simply connected to N directly and O from the Shelly.
To the Shelly there is no external switch etc. connected - so only N + L & I (where L & I are connected to the same WAGO via 1,5mm wire)

This works as expected - Shelly is reachable, I can see the temperature from the Add-On and I can turn on the fan from the shelly.
Unfortunately as soon as I turn off the fan, the shelly gets unreachable.
The only way I can get the shelly back online is by removing the power supply.
Afterwards it works again as expected.

I think the problem here is that the fan still rotates shortly after I turn it off and instead of consuming electricity,

might create it at that point in time. Based on this "overload" the shelly 1 stops working.

Any idea what I can do to prevent this from happening?

Thanks for your replies in advance.

Hi and welcome to the forum. :)

You can switch a relay in between to decouple the inductivity of the fan from the Shelly.

    Good luck.

  • I wonder how the current out of the fan during the bleeding could reach the Shelly: Due to the fact the contact between I and O is open (Shelly was switched off via command), the fan runs freely with no electrical connection to the live terminals of Shelly.
