I'm interested in this capability too.

basic http authentication within the url e.g. http://user:password@deviceip/etc/etc

Basic authentication works as described but HTTPS unfortunately not.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I'm struggling with it on my shelly 1 and was wondering if you could point me to some info / tutorial so I can have a read and hopefully suss out what I'm doing wrong?
