rgbw2 switching on AC side

    hi could someone explain what the device is that is connected between the switch on the AC side and the RGBW2 on the DC side . Is it an opto isolater and receiver /relay . Please also confirm the wiring as per the shelly diagram ? Is the AC switch just trigering the DC side ?

    Indeed - the black device is an optocoupler which separates the safety-low voltage of the RGBW2 from the mains. Thus AC current flowing through the primary side of the optocoupler triggers via a photosensitive transistor the input of the Shelly, activating its function. And yes, diagrams in “lexicon” are applicable.

    thank you for reply and confirmation does it matter which way the connections are made , is it the red and black leads on the low voltage side and the 2 black leads on the neutral mains side ?

    Right: the side with the black and red wire is the low-voltage side. Here wire colours are essential! The other side with two black wires is the mains voltage side. The two black wires may be interchanged as appropriate.
