SHELLY EM: Connection Issues

  • Hi,

    Trying to connect to the mobile app, the popup device connected successfully included via wifi is showed, i push OK, but not able to push FINISHED (I see it under popup OK, but after pressing OK, dessapear). Into DISCOVERED DEVICES, the Shelly EM is not showed.

    I tried to connect directly to the IP (embedded web interface), and I could connect, assign an internal ip and see the ip/shelly em device connected to my router, but into MOBILE APP, the device ask for user/password...seems to be locked and finally it´s not possible to connect.

    I know that I haven´t a good wifi (poor intensity). Could be the reason?

    What would be the way to proceed?

    About "CLOUD" concept, should be enabled into embedded url? I´m missundertanding CLOUD concept.

    What is the right use of different apps?:

    1. Mobile APP "Shelly Cloud"

    2. APP Shelly Cloud (for browser): https://my.Shelly.cloud

    3. Embedded Web Interface: First connecting to ip 192.168.33.1, and later to an ip assigned by user.

Januar 2022 um 15:10) aus folgendem Grund: First, I used a PLC to extend my wifi, but the name of that wifi is different than the wifi name provided for the router. It i smandatory to use identical wifi name? or could be diferent? (the plc only changes the name, but the signal is obtained from the router)

    did you buy the device used? sounds like this when the WebUI is locked.

  • First I tried with the mobile AP, with my router wifi, but no way (I haven´t a good wifi)

    Then, in order to improve wifi, I tried with a PLC device near shelly EM. This PLC is connected to my router, but the wifi name is different.. In this case, no way too.

    In both cases, the device couldn´t to finish the pairing. It seems that connect to the wifi, but after press OK, the FINISHED button is not showed and I can´t see the DEVICE DISCOVERED.

    Finally I tried with the embedded web interface. I could to connect to the router, I see the new ip for the Shelly, meter was working, but I couldn´t to connect mobile app with Shelly device.

    About wifi, could I to use wifi from PLC or must be the router wifi?

    Could yo tell me the best way to connect the shelly?

    So you can take a look to the Router dashboard

    what IP he got. Can you access his WebUI via this IP in the local network? Which router are you using?

    When you know the IP, you can try to include the device via IP.
