[NEW FEATURE REQUEST] Dimming percentage conversion

  • Hi there,

I bought some Shelly RGBW2's, 12V DC power supply and some 12V DC dimmable LED lights (https://www.ledshop-groenovatie.com/GU5.3-/-MR16-D…arm-Wit-10-Pack). I noticed that while dimming, these LED lights are at full brightness while the shelly is only at 10%, the remaining 90% results in the same full brightness. This means dimming is not smooth (as I have only 10% to work with) and the fade-in/fade-out (transition time setting) looks a bit strange.

With home automation systems like Loxone they implemented a percentage conversion, so you can re-define the dimming scale. This can be done with 4 simple numbers. If, like in my case, you would want to change the dimming range to 0-10% you would fill in as following:

    - input value 1: 0 [%]

    - target value 1: 0 [%]

    - input value 2: 100 [%]

    - target value 2: 10 [%]

It's just a simple linear conversion. I searched some forums and found more people having this limitation, I really hope this feature could be implemented in the next releases.

    Thank you in advance!

    Steph
