Plug unable to connect to app even when on same network

  • I just bought my first Shelly product, a Shelly Plug S, and I have problems connecting the plug to the app. I do as written in the description and as shown in the official video to the letter but it doesn't work. I can see in my router app that the plug is connected to the same network as my phone, but it still isn't discoverable. I have updated to the latest firmware and is now able to log on to the plug when in client mode, but still isn't able to discover the plug in the app. Does it require a specific IP range (e.g. 192.168.xxx.xxx)? And is it just a faulty plug that I should return?

    Update: I created a new wifi network with a spare router, which I connected the plug to. Once I did this everything worked fine. After I got it up an running I changed the client mode wifi network to my normal network, which I haven't been able to do previously, and everything still works fine. 27th time lucky, I suppose. :)
