Best US Switch to use with Shelly

  • Hi,

I'm using a shelly 2.5 with a standard "flip" switch. You flip up for the lights to go on and flip down to turn them off.

The challenge I have is that if the shelly automates through automation the switch is in the wrong position. You have to flip the switch back off to reset it and then back on to turn the lights on manually.

How do people get around this?

Is a rocker-type switch better? If so, does this group recommend a good switch to use? I'm in the US, so Lutron/Leviton come to mind as top choices.

    Thanks for the tips!

  • Welcome to the forum!

At first: Shelly actuators are suited to work with both - push buttons and switches! Obviously you‘re using a switch (not a push button) but your Shelly is configured for push button! You should try to set „button type“ (submenu of „settings“) to „toggle“ or „edge“:

And you should double check your Shelly 2.5 is set to „relay“-mode!
