Shelly 1PM activate output on module power on

  • Background; I have an outside sensor that switches on outside lights and it works well as such but it does not integrate to Home Assistant and this is what I am trying to overcome.

The sensor switches 240 volts on and off directly so I could then use that to power the Shelly 1PM on when the sensor is detecting movement and if Home Assistant can then react to that, I hope to create an automation in Home Assistant to activate the output of the Shelly.

My question is; when the Shelly is powered On, is it possible to get Home Assistant to detect this and then activate the output of the Shelly to power on the lights?

    Thanks in advance.

  • just wire the active of the output of the sensor to the switch of the shelly. Then wire the output of the shelly to the active of the lights. That way the sensor will still control the lights but you will be able to see it home assistant. I wouldnt be using the sensor to power the shelly as you would probably find you will get constant errors in HA when the device goes offline as well lots of other issues.
