Shelly 2.5 to control central off on relays

  • Hi. I have a Shelly 2.5 laying around and wanted to use it to control the central off function on my existing relays.

So all my light are wired to these relays which work on 24vDC. These relays have an input, and when it gets an impuls from one of the switches, it turns all lights off. Switches are also on 24v.

I already got the Shelly up and running but when I try finishing the wiring, nothing seems to trigger the central off function.

Is this even possible with a Shelly?

    Thanks for your help.

  • Welcome to the forum, MaartenGhy !

To your issue: It would be very helpful to get a little sketch of your wiring and to know the type of the relays!

  • Hi, I have Eltako ESR12Z-ADX-UC relays in use.

The 24v also runs to my switches in home. One of these impuls switches is used to turn all lights off, one of the wire is connected to the specific port on the relays.

I hope the sketch below is clear as to where I am now. To be honest I have no idea what to connect to Sw1 and what to O1.

The red wire is the one controlling the central off function

  • Thanks for the details!

Due to the fact the ELTAKO relay is activated by switching against plus 24V, the Shelly 2.5 is not applicable because its two relay contacts are switching against Minus/GND. With a Shelly pro 2, you‘ll get two „dry“ contacts - switching against plus 24V is possible! Alternatively, two Shelly 1 would do the job as well…

Addendum: The correct type of the ELTAKO is ESR12Z-4DX-UC.
