One phase show strange values

  • Hi,

I have just connected my 3EM to see how much my pool heater and pool pump consumes.

The pump runs on three phases and the heater is on one phase.

Phase A har the heater so Phase B and Phase C should be identical.

Can someone explain to me why it differs and how I can get the correct values?

Phase B has probably the contactor for the pool pump as well.

  • The reason for the nearly half active power at phase B is the low power factor - current at phase B and C are the same. The reason could probably be a special kind of 3 phase motor in the pump, but this is not very likely. Would you please double check if current clamps and voltage pins (VA, VB and VC) are correctly assigned?

And, by the way: Welcome to the forum!

    Re-connected all cables, no luck.
Will check later tonight to put all three on the same phase to see what the results are

  • My question was not if all cables were thoroughly connected - just wanted to know if the wire at terminal VA (for example) has the same potential as the wire where the current clamp connected with IA is located. (Same question for VB/IB and VC/IC.)

Ah, misunderstood you there, even though I'm not sure how to check the potential...
The three phases comes directly from the same central so there shouldn't be any trouble there.

I just saw that when I turn off the heater and the pump I get this...

There must be something with the wiring of the contactor or the breaker for the contartor...
