SW1 not working, while SW2 does

  • Hi there,

I started my smart home journey with Shelly and recently ordered a Shelly Pro 1. After installing it, I configured it to replace my old relay and it works as expected, except for one detail. I have multiple momentary buttons in my hallway and the Shelly only reacts on those connected to SW1, but not to SW2. I changed the cables, which makes the other half of switches working, but kills the other half. I couldn‘t find any setting that could influence this in the App, only a firmware update, which I did, but it changed nothing.

Is there anything else I can test or check or is the Shelly Pro 1 defective?

One other question: The Shelly sits relatively loose on the DIN rail, is this by design?

Thanks for your support, if you need anything else, to support me, please let me know!

  • Welcome to the forum!

    To you issue:

Did you connect the Shelly pro 1 like this?:

(Except for the two separate switch/button circuits.)

Please double-check for the existence of ONE live wire only at the button circuit!

Another possible issue could be a bad contact at the SW1 terminal. You may check this with a multimeter: Disconnect the switched wires at SW1 and SW2 and determine the voltage across terminal SW1 and L, respectively SW2 and L. You should measure about 3V DC in both cases.

And give us please some feedback!

Even in the current firmware 0.11.0 it is not yet possible to use both inputs (SW1 and SW2) simultaneously and meaningfully (also for webhook).

At the moment, one possibility is to change the switch used from SW1 to SW2:

but unfortunately there are still some bugs in the individual setting options.

For the time being it makes sense to completely hide SW2 in your mind and only use SW1 until perhaps at some point full function is possible, at best with both inputs.

  • TobiSmartHome : Did you got the point?

And many thanks to @Olsche for clarification about bugs in firmware 0.11.0!

  • Hey thgoebel and @Olsche I think the issue described by @Olsche is the problem I am seeing, but if I remember correctly my App shows Button/Switch not input 1 or input 2.

I will check that later when I am back home and update this thread with another answer.
