dry contact connection for heating

  • hello I want to connect my shelly plus 1 to the dry contacts of my electronic heating card

but in the instructions for my heating it specifies that the dry contacts must not be supplied with 230v

so I'm a bit afraid I wouldn't want to make a mistake in the connections and I couldn't find a tutorial for this type of connection

if someone can help me by clearly telling me how to connect the wires to the box to avoid burning out my electronic heating board

  • Welcome to the forum!

To the issue: If a dry contact of an appliance shouldn’t be connected to mains voltage, the shelly (which shall be activated by the contact) MUST be supplied by a low voltage power supply! The Shelly plus 1PM has a separate pin (+12V) to connect a 12V stabilised DC supply. Plus should be connected to the +12V pin and Minus/GND to pin L.

Just imagine the manual switch in the diagram above is your dry contact!
