Shelly1 having trouble connecting to my wireless network

I am the happy owner of various shelly devices. My shelly1 currently control my bedside lamp (in combination with the shelly button case) has been working flawlesly for almost a year. However a couple of days ago i had issue controlling it from home assistant. Turns out that i couldn't even access the config web page. My first attempt was to reset it and configure it again. Upon reset i can access the temporary network created by the shelly but when i input name and password of my wifi it doesn't manage to connect again.
The wifi network is the same i've been using so far. what else could it be?
