How to reconnect after changing ISP and network name

  • I just had to change my ISP, router and network name.

Now my Shelly devices are reported as OffLine.

How to I reload them to the new network please (Newbie)

    Thanks

  • Hi welcome to the board.

    You have multiple options.

    1. Change your new routers Wlan Settings to your old settings (SSID, Password)

    2. Get you‘r old router or an AccessPoint (needs old SSID and Password)

In both options you can change your wlan Setting ro the new ones.

    3. Reset all your shellys!

  • Thanks Devil

The old SSID is the previous Network name? Which was named for the last ISP/router (as a by-the-way)

I know what that is - but I have since set up all my other devices to connect to a new SSID (now NOT named for the ISP/Router - so should now be permanent)

So, are you saying that for the Shelly's to stay connected, I can't adopt the new (permanent) SSID?

Or, are you saying if I temporarily revert to the old name (to get back comms with the Shelly's ) that I can then tell them about the new SSID?

And then I can reset the new router to the new SSID?

It is one of the possible ways.

It is possible to set two SSID accesses in the device settings. See picture. In the second case, a new SSID can be set.

I suggest add a shared connection from the other phone with network access, on which the old SSID and password will be set.

After that, you will be able to connect to the shelly device, where you can set new SSID to which the device will be redirected.
