Shelly Plus 2PM vs. Shelly 2.5

Hi Everybody,

I have successfully Shelly'd a number of roller shutters with Shelly 2.5. Work like a charm, both from the app and from the old-school button.

Recently I've got Shelly Plus 2PM, as a supposedly newer evolution of the kind. I switched device profile to "cover", and the rollers fine ok from the app. However, the issue is that with the wall buttons (which are exactly the same as the other) I am unable to switch direction.

Namely, when both buttons are set to "off" I can select any direction. But when one of the buttons is set to on, let's say down, if I switch to up, the shutter stands still. When I switch back to down, it still stands still.

I have moved the Shelly 2.5 that works fine to this new location, and with 2.5 it works as expected - I can switch up and down as I please. With Plus 2PM I have to switch to neutral, wait and then switch in the desired direction. It seems to me like Plus 2PM switches inputs too quicky, and both are "on" for a short while, which blocks the shutter.

Is there any settings I should specifically change/adapt, await firmware update, or just toss 2PM and get 2.5?

Thanks for the configuration data! Obviously, you’ve set the input type to “switch” at your Shelly plus 2PM. Please try to set input type “button”:

Thank you, yes, that did the trick!

However, I am still not able to reproduce the control that I have with another 2.5 - namely, ability to stop movement by switching back to neutral (both buttons). It allows to set intermediate positions with just old-style buttons.

Does 2PM Plus support "momentary" type of switch?
