Is Shelly Pro 1 or Pro 1 PM useful for following use case and what is the wiring diagram?

  • I would like to know if the Shelly Pro 1 or the Pro 1 PM is useful for following use case.

My lighting in my house is currently controlled via Eltako impulse relays combined with push buttons. The pushbuttons operate on 24V AC and in my electrical cabinet, in addition to the L + N + ground cables from the lights (230V), SVV cables used in the pushbutton switches (24V AC) are also used.

I would like to replace 1 of the current Eltako impulse relays with a Shelly Pro 1 because I want 1 lamp to be time-controlled.

Is the Shelly Pro 1 usable (or do I need a Pro 2 or other model?) in this scenario and which wire diagram can I use for this?

It so happens that the current diagrams for the L always use the same circuit for the lamps as the switches (hopefully I am expressing myself correctly and understandably), but so in my case there is a separate 230V and a 24V AC circuit.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Welcome to the forum!

Unfortunately, Shelly Europe Ltd. has withdrawn the 12V DC (and 24V DC) option for all devices of the “pro” series. Hence, there exists no solution to solve your issue, (Said in parentheses only: The 24V DC option ist still working: Plus 24V DC is connected to pin N, minus/GND to pin L. And it will NOT work with 24V AC!)

  • That's sad to hear.

I do not want to start with DC in my electrical cabinet, so I would like to modify as little as possible to the existing situation.

So I understand that Shelly cannot provide a solution for me here?

  • You may continue to use the ELTAKO relays and to insert Shelly pro devices between the contacts of the impulse relays and the appliances,

  • Would it be possible, please, to explain that in a little more detail so that I can better understand what you mean?

What would I need then, and how should this be connected?

I would simply like to have 1 lamp, controlled via 1 impulse relay, turn on and off time-controlled.
