Shelly Uni and Bluetooth

  • I would like to use a Shelly Uni on my campervan to monitor 3 temperatures and control the lock and unlock an additional safety lock on the main door. The van has a 4G router with WiFi and if everything is ok with the Internet signal, It will work just fine.

The problem I see is when there is no network signal and therefore, no connection to the cloud. How can I unlock the system with the smartphone in this situation? Can the Shelly be accessed and controlled directly via Bluetooth? This would only be used with the Shelly in range, naturally.

  • Connent your phone to WIFI (LAN) and use the web brouser.

Connect to UNI with IP 191.168.xxx.xxx and unlock.

Thank you. I will try and see the results. Yesterday I had a problem with the cable service and the cable company's router would refuse to connect the phone to the network and I couldn't force it. I have a Shelly on the test bench but I didn't try to see if I could get into the web server. The Campervan's router is private and I suppose if I disconnect the card's data it will connect to the WiFi. The alternative would be to dedicate one of the digital inputs to the open command and hide the button somewhere under the chassis for emergency unlock.

  • You can activate the accesspoint of the Shelly UNI (with a set password) and connect to the accesspoint. Then you can reach the UNI at http://192.168.33.1. This is the default address from the accesspoint. There is no need to hide a button somewhere ;)

Thanks for the information. I'm new to Shelly but like the more barebone ones. It would be interesting if we could get Shellies with Sim card capabilities. It would add easy mobile capabilities.
