Positive Switching Output

  • I am trying to learn whether it's possible to wire the RGBW2 so that it switches the 12 VDC positive input as opposed to the negative? I am trying to control 4 lights, but need to be able to switch the positive lead. I could have the RGBW2 switch another relay that would then switch the postive lead but that would need 4 relays in addtion to the RGBW2. If this can't be done with the RGBW2 - can it be done with 4 Shelly 1's?

Thanks for any guidance. I am new to the Shelly concept and trying to learn.

The Shelly RGBW2 is a PWM controller for LED strips. Hence, four additional pnp transistors are necessary if the LED strip has common ground:

(Only one of the four channels is depicted,)

The transistors must be selected according to the power requirements of the strip. Resistor value is given for 12V supply. For 24V supply, 2,2kΩ resistors are necessary.
