Shelly RGBW2 Dimming via Wall Switch

    Hi,

    I am looking to buy the RGBW controller but am having trouble understanding how to wire this to a wall switch.

    In the wiring diagrams it shows a wall switch as on/off/dimming. See the attachment.

    Does this mean that if the wall switch has a Shelly Dimmer 2 and this is connected to the RGBW I/O as pictured, will dim the Led Strip lights?

    I.e. The dim function from the Dimmer 2 is received by the RGBW which in turn dims the lights

    Just a bit confusing as to what "Dimming" means at the wall switch.

    My goal is to be able to turn the led lights on and off as well as dim from the wall switch (push button)

    Welcome to the Forum ??

    You do not need an extra Shelly dimmer on the button.

    A normal push button is completely sufficient, and with it you can

    short keying = on/off

    hold down = dims up

    press and hold again = dims down

    control the RGBW2 from there.

    Fast 5 Jahre kein übergeordnete System. Nur mit App und WebUI mit Cloudverbindung. Sprachsteuerung mit Alexa:)

    Seit Anfang 2024 ist HomeAssistant mit am Start. Was Shelly Cloud nicht kann, bzw. Lokal gesteuert werden soll, übernimmt da übergeordnete System.

    I am not able to change button type to Momentary. It freezes app, I have to restart it and I always found the same value for button type which is toggle switch. Any advice ?

    Is posible with 4 withe strips and rgbw2


    short keying = on/off n1 n2

    Long keying = on/off n3 n4

    Or similar?
