shelly with existing controller board

  • Hi,

I have a couple of roller shutters already using a shellys2.5 and was hoping I could use another shelly2.5 for the pool cover.

The motor on the pool cover has 5 wires (2 for the motor and 3 for sensors) After checking with a multimeter I can see the input to the board is 230V AC but all other contacts (motor, switch and sensor) are 30V DC.

Since I have no way of using the sensors with the Shelly2.5 I was thinking if I could have the shelly in DC roller shutter mode but connect the outputs to the key switch input on the board and, have the existing switch plugged into the shelly. I will prob need to calibrate the opening and closing times in shelly since measuring the current wouldn't be an indicative if the shutter is currently opening/closing or stopped.

If this is not possible I was wondering if the shelly could be wired in parallel to the existing switch (just having to be careful not to have the switch opening and the shelly closing at the same time). but I am not sure how the wiring diagram

    Thanks in advance,

  • I think a possible solution is wiring shelly2.5 as a key switch. But first you need to know if controller board has accesible negative and positive 30V dc. You also need a voltage test (from negative) on the yellow/green wire from the key switch. With that I can try to make a wiring diagram.

    Good luck
