Connection lost when adding device

  • Hi,

I got the door/window sensor the other day and are having an issue.

I can add the sensor to wifi, but after the next step, when you set a name, image, icon and press submit, it takes a long time then dies with error message of connection lost. All leds go dark on device and it wont wake up without fiddling with the battery or reset button. I tried resetting it several times (10 sec on button), but nothing helped. Is my device broken?

Maybe there is a timeout during embedding.

After the manual wake up you have about 3min time to edit all settings. If the time is up and the DW2 is in deep sleep again, the process cannot be completed.

To do this, the DW2 would have to be manually woken up again using the button.

    Meine Shellys:

    In Betrieb:

  • did you set a user name and password to your Shelly device? This may create problems for the app to add your new device correctly. I had a similar(?) behaviour with my Flood. For some reason it seams that the app (on my mobile phone) was not able to discover the new device because of that setting. It needed a lot of tries (and some frustration - becasue of that 3 min timeout) to get the device registred.

I finally got the Flood registred based on entering it's previous set static IP - and the I got a Username/Password dialog - after that everything worked fine...
