Roller Shutter mode - Calibration is not accurate

  • First of all, I want to thank Shelly for the creation of this page. For those of us concern about privacy, using Facebook as a communication media for solving technical problems was a great error.

I have several shellys 2.5 used for controlling roller shutters and, despite of having followed the suggestions indicated in the "CALIBRATION TIPS ROLLER SHUTTER" document , the calibration method does not accurately fit to my roller shutters.

The shellys perfectly detect the top and bottom positions. The problem is that if I send a command to set the 50% position, the real position where Shelly moves the shutter is not 50% but 65%, i.e. lower than real 50%. It should be necessary to allow a 50% setting as other devices have.

Why is that so? I suppose that is because the roller shutters that are common in Spain continue descending once they get to the bottom position because the different parts (slats) that compose a shutter insert one inside the others.

You can see this in the attached video from the 1:07 s to the 1:12 s.

    Thank you.

Hi @jpalacio , welcome in our forum. :)

    Why is that so? ...

The team of shelly works at this point and with the newest firmware, it should be better than with an old one.

The percentages are calculated over the travel time.:(

The thinner the role (that is, when the shutter is down) the less the curtain in height will make, since the rotational speed so remains the same.

Sorry, my english is not the best, and i hope, you understand my explanation.

  • That's an important topic to me too.

I understaind that travel time, but it will be nice to insert also an Offset option so the user can tune the correct 50%. On my case also to let the shutter at 50% i must to set the 65% instead 50%...

Please consider to insert that offset option to the slider.

You've seen, that the last posting is more than 2 years old!? :/

    A shelly 2.5pm don't exist.

I think, you mean ShellyPro2PM, do you? Then --> wrong device section. ;)

    This section is Shelly2.5.
