Changed Eltako dimmer with Shelly Dimmer 2

    Hi, I had 2 Eltako dimmers in my livingroom, these where working ok but I wanted to expand my wireless so I purchased 2 pieces Shelly Dimmer 2. I just want to share how I did it.... I have currently no issues.

    My first trial to set it up failed - dimmer got overheated, a lot of blinking, interference with other led lamps who also started to blink and so on.

    So, I decided to restart and this time everything works flawless. So, in short - what did I do:

    1) connected Shelly Dimmer 2 stand alone on power

    2) changed IP to static ( outside DHCP)

    3) after connecting to my home network, update firmware to the BETA version.

    4) made a temporary setup with the Shelly dimmer 2 + impuls switch + connected outlet of dimmer to my living room lamp (orginal feed kabel disconnected). In this way I had a stand alone system.

    5) power on on system - via web interface (not the app) connected to dimmer to change settings.

    6) changed to trailing + did calibration via web interface.

    7) when calibration was completed, powered of the system and powered on again.

    8. still via web interface checked the system, all was working flawless - no blinking - no sound and I could use the full range of dimming.

    9) tested now via the app and also here no issue.

    10) installed all in the wall and powered on the system - all ok.

    11) did the same for second dimmer and as expected all ok.

    I must say, I always configure and test my Shelly devices via web interface as it seems functioning better for setting up your device then via app ( in my case)

    Just wanted to share my findings as I see that many have issue with blinking and sound.

    PS2: when I installed my Eltako some years ago, I had also issues with blinking.... I found out that in my switchboard the fase was switched with the zero, so I asssumed I was dimming on the fase :) After is switched the cables in the switchboard all blinking was gone.

    Great board here... tomorrow my other stuff to be installed, Shelly EM, Shelly 1PM and more.
