Hi Everyone,
I have a Dimmer2 connected with Neutral, driving a Feit Electric LED globe (this one). It draws around 4W at 100%.
It's working OK (as in, it dims, and acts generally as expected) with firmware 1.7.6, without a calibration (?).
I upgraded all my Shellies to 1.9.3, and this globe started flickering intermittently. I figured it was calibration related. Tried to calibrate it, in both leading and trailing edge (it should be in trailing edge, but after this didn't work, I tried leading edge). It always gets to ~50% then fails. I've tried a number of different firmware versions, 1.8.5, 1.9.3, 1.9.0 - all these have the same symptom of failing the calibration.
I have another Dimmer2 driving a Tala 3W LED bulb, and this calibrates and works exactly as expected - in v1.9.3 as well as others.
I bought two Bypasses, figuring they might be useful for smoother dimming at low wattages, but I see no mention of using them with a neutral - only in situations where there is no neutral. Is it safe / useful to connect the bypass between the output and neutral, if the neutral is also connected to the Shelly? In the Aeotec Z-Wave dimmer I have in another install, they recommend a bypass for any load less than (I think) 30W, or for any LEDs that are prone to flickering.
For clarity, I'm asking if putting the bypass in parallel with the load will help (as other dimmers do this). I've attached a sketch if that helps!
Thanks in advance for any help! Other advice to get it to calibrate is also appreciated!
