Energy consumption persistence

  • I'm successfully utilising a number of the Shelly 1PM devices, in various areas of my home and have them integrated with my Home Assistant instance. Though everything is working as expected, I've noticed the energy consumption metric resets to 0, following a power outage or device reset.

I can get round this using 'utility meter' functions within Home Assistant, however as the number of 1PM devices increases, this workaround becomes more and more clunky. Is there a mechanism for the device to retain the last value and resume from this point after a reboot?

  • Ich möchte hier auch an dieser Stelle die Frage stellen ob es nicht möglich ist die akkumulierten Messwerte (total energy consumption) über einen reboot oder auch Stromausfall hinaus zu erhalten? (1 PM)

Hi together and welcome to the forum to you all. :)

As far as I know there is no workaround .

In higher-level home automation systems, you can achieve the goal through storage and appropriate logics.

    Hello all,

I'm sorry but persistence storage of the total energy values within the Shellys is unfortunately not possible. The reason is that the flash memory would not withstand so many write operations during years or decades.

The only possible way is to store the energy values ist to use a overall automation system (as 66er already wrote).
