Blind time reset

  • Does any know if there is a way to reset the blind time on the Shelly Motion (via MQTT/HTTP/......)

If this does not exist, it may be a nice additional feature.

I like having the blind time @5 mins which would save on battery life and also seems to be a fair timeout for no motion in a room. After this the no motion event is sent which would turn lights off, but lights comes with wall switches and force of habit is to flick the switch on the way out of a room. Now entering back into that room within 5mins it does not send a motion detected signal due to the blind time, so no light unless manually turned on again.

So, I would like to reset the blind time when the light it control is switched off manually and have it send the "no motion" event. Possible? I'm using Home Assistant so adding a automation to send some instruction to an API should be a no brainer, but it needs to be supported first.

  • Good day @Olsche & tws80 hope you guys are doing fine.

Small question, I'm a newbie to the conditional coding of the shelly world but I'd like to know where I can find this action that you guys mentioned here.

In my Motion local page I cannot find it in actions and in the ios app it's the same.

My question is the same or very similar to TWS80.

I have 2 shelly 1L controlling zone lighting.

I want the Shelly Motion to turn off the lights if I forget about them after a specified time or number of detections while using the Shelly 1L switch as a bypass for the timer that is possible to set on the End of motion action?

    Actual example:

scenario 1 - Person goes into the room, shelly motion detects the person, no switch is pressed, lights come on, when person leaves room, shelly motion times the turn off.

scenario 2 - Person goes into the room to work but may be away from detection intermittently (longest period of time 1 or 2 hours in blind spot), shelly motion detects the person and switch is pressed, lights come on, when person leaves the room either switch or shelly turns the lights off.

    Is this possible?

    Thank you guys!
