All good points and gratefully received!

I don't think that I can create a WiFi NW just for the Shelly's at this time as I already have multiple SSID's for different things and I don't think it is practical for have one specifically for the Shelly's.

I DO though like the idea of addressing them by room number and it would make things quite clear.

Anyway, I do thank you for your thoughts and for sharing your knowledge. It has given me some more to think about!!! (I might piggy back the i4 and add a temperature sensor to it, for example. I miight as well if I am running a device capable!)

The reason not to add them to the existing NW or even to create a new network is very simply that I will potentially have so many devices that I could end up compromising the WiFi which I am offering. This is a hotel environment so there are A LOT of rooms that will have MANY possible devices. I also don’t want that I end up with someone managing to hack into a single network and have access to start messing with lots of different rooms.

Good point that the IP’s will not conflict. Hadn’t thought of it that way around. Obvious really!

It would still be nice to know if there is a way to change the default IP address of the AP?

So, that just leaves the question of the ability to do the comma using Bluetooth, but I guess that that has not been answered because it is not possible?

And the possibility to hide the SSID of the Plus 1’s AP???

    Thanks

    Thanks for the quick response!

Can you quickly confirm that it is not possible to do any of this using bluetooth? It would seem a great way to handle the comms over such short distances!

    Then, continuing...

I can see that I can set the AP of the relay on again and password protect it so that no one is able to meddle with the settings but this would leave the AP visible which is not ideal.

    Can it not be hidden?

Also, if I were to do this in several places, I would have an IP address conflict as I would have all of my relays set to provide an AP for the corresponding i4.

Is it not possible to change the IP address of the AP on the device acting as a base station?

I guess I could have all of the relays and all of the i4's connected to the 'base' AP but this would still have the standard IP address of 192.168.33.1 and would then still be in conflict when setting up any new equipment.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks

Perhaps I have misunderstood a couple of things and some kind person can straighten my out?

I have a bedroom light which is only switched from the door. I want to switch it from the bed also.

I have added a Shelly Plus 1 to the light switch. Input from the original switch to the Shelly and output from the shelly to the Light.

I have a Shelly i4 in the bedside which has a normal on/off switch wired to input 0.

THis is the easy bit but I think I have come undone.

I was hoping to connect them together using Bluetooth so that the i4 triggers the Plus 1 when the light swicth is toggled and, in turn toggles the Plus 1's output. Is this not possible?

If this is not possible, how can I do this without putting both devices on my network?

I don't really want the SSID of either units to be visible!

What is then the best way to toggle the lights? Webhooks?

    Thanks

Hi, can someone please point me in the right direction?

I have installed a number of Shelly Pro devices and find the same problem in each case.

For many reasons, we get power loss. What I tend to find is that the Shelly does not set the output according to the schedule, if the power loss occurs during the time that an action should be performed.

For example: If a Shelly's output is in the off state and there is a power loss. An action occures during the power loss which should put the output into an On state but doesn't because the power is out.

The power then comes back on but the Shelly does not switch the output because it doesn't check what the state SHOULD be at the time.

i.e. It does not check the last action in the schedule list to see what the current state SHOULD be.

Is there a way to set this?

    Thanks
