For anyone who finds this in the future, as you can see I didn't get much help here but the solution was to turn the ceiling fan itself on high during calibration of the light. Not sure why it makes a difference since it wouldn't seem they are on a shared circuit, but the issue is repeatable and that's the solution. I'm sure I'm far from the only one interested in this application of the dimmer. Cheers.

Also noticed at 100% brightness, consumption is total 10.4w. There are 4 bulbs in the fixture which are 4.5w each, so total should be more like 18w. Anything that can be done? I think the Philips bulbs are ususally recommended as bulbs that play well with Shelly.

Same problem and I have calibrated repeatedly (trailing edge), trying different firmware versions. I have had my defective dimmers replaced and now I can calibrate successfully (great!). Using 4x Philips 536730 dimmable warm glow LED bulbs.
I have to set the minimum brightness around ~30%, that can't be right, can it?

Tons of issues with this for me and others, and not a clear answer from Allterco. Supposedly there is a new firmware coming out (this week?) that may help; if not I may be returning these things as I've messed with it enough.

I haven't heard anything on my ticket since responding on Tuesday, but the dimmer is no longer showing any error - even the status output shows no loaderror now... Maybe the Dimmer "got used" to my bulbs? Still, calibration fails halfway and the lights shut off. Hoping to get this figured out so I can move on with my life

Sounds like it would be related to a new firmware, but I tried with several old versions of firmware and had the same issues. After an hour or so digging through other people's issues/programming APIs/etc. I learned you can see some diagnostic info at [shelly.i.p.address]/status; you can see a little more what's going on including "loaderror: 4" but again, no documentation of what this means anywhere on the internet.
Opened a ticket and they got back to me a few days asking what kind of bulbs I'm using - so it may have something to do with bulb compatibility. At least it would be nice if the bulbs were somehow not compatible, if the Shelly would work to power the lights at full power instead of getting confused and turning the lights off 2 seconds after they are powered on.

I have a ceiling fan with light fixture which are operated from a single wall switch, and my goal is to install a Shelly Dimmer 2 in the ceiling to control only the light portion. The unit has separate hot wires for the fan (black wire) and light kit (blue wire), which were originally twisted together so both were controlled by the single wall switch - just like in this picture (taken from Home Depot page on how to wire a ceiling fan):
how-to-wire-a-ceiling-fan-step-4.jpg
It seemed straightforward to separate the lamp and fan leads, so the lead to the lamp is attached to the dimmer output O, and split out the neutral and switched hot wires - so neutral to fan, neutral to dimmer N, switched hot to fan, switched hot to dimmer L:
It is fine that the power to the Dimmer is switched, as I keep the fan running 24/7. Is there anything wrong with this setup?
The lights work and can be dimmed, but in the web UI I am seeing "ERROR 4" but I can't find any documentation of what this means. I may also have seen earlier ERROR 5 but not at the moment. Attempting to calibrate using trailing edge (I believe this is the correct method) gets about halfway done before the lights shut off and I get an error "Calibration failed: 1" - the same happens if I select leading edge.
For reference, I am in the US, and the light kit has 4 lamps - each has a 3.5w GE LED bulb (and the web UI properly shows 15w consumption at 100% brightness).
Thank you!

Same issue here. Is there a list of error codes anywhere?
