update: after resetting a few more.times the device came up again. No data lost, same settings. I dont understand it, but I'm happy it works again. Updated to 1.11 to hopefully prevent this again.

hi, since a few days I have this exact problem. I tried resetting, but now the LEDs don't even come on. Did you manage to resolve the issue? I'd appreciate any help very much. The 3em is the most important part of my smart home.. Thanks!

I could do the update.
I tried all combinations of optional settings: without; with gateway only; DNS only; both. None seemed to work for the dimmer 2 with the old firmware.
With the current firmware I've left out the optional settings again (my other shelly devices updated just fine without them). I'll try to remember to post here if the shelly updates the next time an update is available. Or are there other tests to check if the device can connect to the internet?

That was a good call! I haven't connected my shelly deviced to the cloud, so I could only see it was connected to wifi. I am using manual IP, but somehow the device was not able to connect to the internet. I don't understand why, my other shelly devices with similar configurations seem to work fine. I've temporarily changes to automatic IP and was able to update the dimmer. Perhaps there can be an additional status symbol at the top to display if the device can reach the update server?

Ok. Should I make a support ticket?

Do you have any ideas on how to debug this? Clearly my dimmer 2 is not updating via OTA.

66er ah, sorry. The experience of not being able to update the firmware made me misinterpret. I'm still however stuck. Neither the OTA nor the web interface seem to be able to update the dimmer 2. The OTA gives me this message:
Code{"status":"updating","has_update":false,"new_version":"","old_version":"20200528-111028/1026-new-device-dimmer-l@98d7122e"}
And when the Dimmer 2 reboots, nothing has happened. Should the message be like this?

That was shure zhe production-firmware.
This one you could not reload.
So you're saying I've been sold a product without firmware support? Which would mean I'm stuck with a flickering Dimmer 2, since I won't be able to update to the non-faulty firmware.

I was thinking, perhaps my shelly doesn’t recognize that the ota file is the for the right device? It also has reported this long firmware string, instead of a simple version, from day 1. Perhaps some pre-release firmware? Thinking out loud here.

Hmm, I’ve seen the firmware update once, when I first installed it. But it only listed beta software. Now nothing. 66er do you have any suggestions? I’ve tried factory reset. I don’t have multiple routers to try..

Can this thread be marked as unresolved? I believe there has not been a solution proposed to the problem. Thanks.

I have the same issue. Have you been able to find a solution? OTA gives me the following, where I don't even see a firmware version I can recognize. This is how I received the unit.
