I have two motion sensors operating with no issues (short of 1-2 hrs burned connecting the device*)....so why not set one up to monitor my elderly Dad!? Right when I received the new Shelly motion sensor, one of my motions sensors failed. "Device Off Line".

I found this which seems to be the solution....for the technically inclined, *which I have proved I am not.

So a little Googling I learned what AP mode is on my router and I can access settings on my router... which may be the limit of my technical prowess. I believe that leaves me with two challenges:

    1. going to AP mode on my router (Arris SBG6900)
    2. setting the Motion address to something outside of the routers normal range

Is anyone aware of "beginner level" instructions to the two above challenges? Or is there a more pedestrian means to get my device back online?

    Thanks

Solved. Unfortunately I no idea how. I was playing around in the app, trying to connect it via the "Add Device" within the app, I backed out to the home screen and saw a device was available to add. The only difference this time vs the previous 5 hours was I was in airplane mode with Wifi on. On to the third device.

This is likely operator error(s). I'm trying to connect a Shelly 2.5 (my second Shelly device). Using the browser method I get to the screen saying "The device will try to connect to (my router)...". I reconnect my phone to my home network (usually it switches back before I manually change the network) but the Shelly app does not show a new device.

I've spent about 3 hours trying - and twice while playing in the app a New Device appears in the app (surprise!!) but after choosing a room, picture, usage....I get a "Connection to the server has been lost" error .

It's such a powerful product...if I could consistently set up their devices I'd convert the entire house. Any suggestions?
