I read through many post about calibration problems but have not been able to find one where a solution is described?

I installed 7 Shelly 2.5 devices to automate our roller blinds. All with the same hardware, all installed exactly the same way. They all work as expected but with one of the devices I am unable to get the calibration to work!?

I can control all roller blinds from the app and in the browser with "up", "down" and "pause" all working just fine, even for the one does just won't calibrate!

    I already tried many things:

    - Factory reset and add the device again

    - start calibration from web browser

    - start calibration from app

    - start calibration when fully closed

    - start calibration when fully opened

    - turning obstacle detection on/off

Has anyone found a solution that works?

    Thanks for your fast reply!

Ok. I had a look behind another roller blind switch and there too seem to be 2 power cables coming to the switch (2 blue, 2 brown, 2 earth). Going up from the switch to a box near roller blind engine is a cable with 5 wires: earth, blue, brown, black and grey (not used).

So the grey can be used to provide the live (L) to the Shelly 2.5 at the top the, right?

Would they have provided 2 blue, 2 brown and 2 earth coming to the switch just for future automation?

Just got off the phone with Vodafone ... they are unable to offer the FRITZ!Box 6591 atm as there are production problems or something. If available, switching to the FRITZ!Box would also cost me another 5 euro per month plus some 30 euro activation or something. I am pretty peed off atm. I’m hoping I can get a workaround working somehow. So if anyone here is able to get a workaround working for the Red Dot award winning Vodafone router I’d be happy.

Sorry, what I was trying to say is that since I learned that the Vodafone router is not compatible I tried the following:

    - I added a GL-AR300M router to the Vodafone cable router via a network cable

    - Registered Shelly device not to the Vodafone but to the 2.4 GHz GL-AR300M WiFi network

This registration works fine via the Shelly Home app ... but I can’t get the device to register on the Shelly cloud via the Shelly app. Btw, it says it succeeds too on the official Shelly app, just like it did on the Vodafone router, but the devices never appear (this is a very confusing user experience).

So question is, is there a way for me to get our Shelly devices to work again with Alexa or have I wasted my money on Shelly? Since local registration works, the problem seems to be with the connection with the cloud, right (is there some blocking happening on the Vodafone router?)? Is there a workaround somehow?

Is Teracomunications (are they reading these forums or do I contact them too?) working on a fix because where I live (NRW, Germany) most people with cable internet will be on the new Vodafone router soon ... which means none of these people will be able to use their Shelly devices anymore?

Strange because my previous router was the Unitymedia ConnectBox which seems to be listed as incompatible BUT worked fine.

Anyhow, I have now added a gl-mt300n router which I still had. I am still struggling to add a Shelly using the Shelly app .... but when I tried using a third party app i.e Shelly Home it does work? How is that possible?

We just had our internet router upgraded recently after Vodafone in Germany acquired our internet provider Unitymedia.

Since the upgrade, all our Shelly devices appeared as offline in the Shelly app (iOS). So first I configured the router to have the same SSID name we had before with the same password. In the Vodafone router admin settings I split the 2.4 and 5 GHz SSID because I believe Shelly only support 2.4. However all Shelly devices were still appearing as offline in the Shelly app.

So alright, start again I thought. So, I deleted all devices, the scenes and as well as room in the Shelly app. I created a new room before I flipped the circuit breaker switch off/on, did the switch 5 times thingy to start the add device process (got the blink confirmation). The process of adding a new device seems to complete successful, got the green thing from the top. BUT ... no devices are in the app? I tried it a few times now, same result each time??? I even removed all Shelly devices from our Alexa and I removed the Alexa Shelly skill.

When looking at the connected devices in the router admin panel I’m guessing that the Shelly devices may actually be connected (they appear as “unknown”) because I can identify (most) other devices that are connected to our WiFi.

What do I do? So far I have three Shelly 1 devices and one Shell 2.5 which need reconfiguring.

I hope you experts here can help me out!!

Ok, quick update. I've now created "routines" on Alexa, one called "Alexa, blinds up" and the other "Alexa, blinds down" which makes asking Alexa to move the blinds sounds a bit less weird. I am still not able to "pause" once the command is executed and I am not sure how to get Alexa to only close the roller blinds e.g. 80%

I have added it to Alexa but it appears as a plug, so the only thing Alexa understands is something like "Alexa garden off" to lower the blinds and "Alexa garden on" to raise the blinds ... but there is no way to stop or pause or ask Alexa to only lower x% or anything. I question whether the roller blinds should appear as "plug" which basically only knows on/off?

Edit: Cloud is activated btw and the mode is set to Shutter

I just managed to connect a Shelly 2.5 to our roller blinds and I have already calibrated it. Via the Shelly app it works fine.

    ShellyRollerBlind.png

I also tested creating a "scene" to schedule when to open the roller blinds and from the Shelly 2.5 app this works fine too!

    ShellyRollerBlindScene.PNG

Now where I am a bit lost and here I could use some help is how to integrate this with our Alexa. How can I ask Alexa to e.g. close the blinds, close the blind 80%, open the blinds, or add it to a scene in Alexa? Is it normal for the Shelly 2.5 roller blinds to show up in Alexa as a "plug"?

Thanks guys! I managed to reset the Shelly and add the device in the Shelly app!

I thought I'd share the solution for others who have a similarly wired home. The "un-used" cable (which ended up not being a brown but a grey cable) ran from the switch to the top (near the roller blinds motor). So I (first switched the power off of course) inserted a Wago and connected that "grey" cable to the power (L) at the switch.

    RollerBlindSwitchConnected.JPG

At the top this "grey" cable now provides the power (the "L") on the Shelly 2.5.

As SparkyMaster and 66er correctly confirmed, I then connected the brown and black coming from the up/down switch to the SW1 and SW2 on the Shelly 2.5 ... as well as the corresponding brown and black coming from the roller blind motor to the 01 and 02 on the Shelly 2.5.

I still need to cut the cables a bit nicer but after some minor problems to add the device to the Shelly app and some calibrating it now works!

Right, I managed to connect the Shelly at the top but I somehow messed up the initial setup. The wifi appeared but somehow I did not add the device. The Shelly's red light seems to be blinking now? How do reset the device and attempt adding the new device again?

p.s. Is there a way to figure out which Wifi network my other Shelly's use? I have 2 networks and I forgot which one was for the smart devices
