    Well I can see that I could just add a voltage amp with something like a LM324 or some other op amp and making both a level converter and amplifier so I could get a swing from nearly 0 to nearly VCC, that's a sort of cave man way of overcoming the lack of ability to read the ADC in less then one volt steps I have it interfaced with Alexa and that makes it a no go as it is. I submitted a request and I see many others have but I don't think they're going to convince the Chinese suppliers programmers to do anything about it.

    You can use it without U2 on 12V DC, the Outputvoltage is in the Range from ~ 9V to 11V

    Interesting,, Is this simply a 555 timer used as an oscillator and integrator? Ha I just looked again this circuit has been around for many many years I think since around 1983 or so ha ha, I was overthinking it.

    It looks like the same, but there ist no Voltageregulator U2 on it.

    A Bride with 0 Ohm Resistor on U2. It works with 12V DC

    I used the photo and schematic you posted and did the same with the module I hooked to 12 volts by mistake. I removed the now defective regulator and bridged the connections with a small wire and it works fine now on the 3.3 volt supply from the UNI. Oh GOD HOW I WISH I COULD SELECT FRACTIONS OF A VOLT IN THE SCENE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I recommend that you find another product, these Shelly devices are great but there is NO SUPPORT.

    If you mention a defect in the design or the app they just say "submit a feature request" they know the problem isn't a feature but a major mistake in the app design and the Shelly firmware. they have no control of the Chinese manufacturing of the Shelly devices.

    I use this device it works very well the shelly UNI is not good for monitoring these devices it will only work in 1 volt steps in the shelly app. you must use a separate 5 volt supply for the sensor they will blow the regulator if you put 12 volts to it. once connected you should get about 3 volts dry and 1 volt in water up to the line on the board.(for testing)

    In general terms:

    If I use a cloud solution, then I have to live with what the developer makes available.

    For me personally, in addition to the refusal to send data about all possible states to a cloud, the argument for a higher-level system and local operation.

    I understand, other solution is to use different product, which I will now do. I'm happy I did not invest any real money in the shelly product, it's not ready for use out of the box but requires some more effort on the customers. I'll find a product that is ready at more cost. :)

    I wonder if it is normal to only be able to select a whole number for ADC trigger in the scenes app?

    I am using a soil moisture detector that gives a 1 to 3 volt range as it is I can only select 1,2 or 3 volts to trigger scene. I need this for integrating to Alexa and google home, I see no reason I shouldn't be able to pick 1.8 for example. The URL commands and web interface won't help in this case. Do I need to make a feature request or am I doing something wrong?

    It's an industry standard connector, replacing it with another one will make no difference I have 15 uni's in various applications where some of them are dangling from that connector, I have no idea how that connector can be any sort of problem and can not see any way of fitting a larger connector onto that tiny circuit board.

    So exactly what is the problem you're having?
