Many thanks Seven of Nine. However, I’m not succeeding 🤦🏻‍♂️

I failed to mention earlier that the switch I’m trying to connect the Dimmer2 into is part of a 2-way switch setup (2 switches controlling the same ceiling lamp).

I’d like to add my Dimmer2 to one of these switches, but I’m getting intermittent success.

Maybe there is some config required via the app to define button type, behaviours, etc?

I’ve attached a simple diagram of my wiring.

Really appreciate the help (and your patience!)

Hi again. Ok, I’m past first step, now need expert advice to complete, please.

I have wired my Dimmer2 in place of my wall switch and I can now control the Ceiling Lamp with the Shelly mobile app via Shelly cloud. On/off and dimming all work perfectly.

I now want to introduce my wall switch back into the circuit, but at the moment, the switch turns the circuit on/off, and with that turns off the Dimmer2 (goes offline on app).

I’d like to be able to set the dimmer to 50% via the app, then just turn the light on and off from the wall switch, with light staying at 50% without having to access the app.

A wiring diagram of what I need would be great.

    Thanks

Hi thanks. Actually, the supply to the ceiling lamp from the wall socket is 240v, and then this is converted to 12v within the lamp itself by its in-built transformer/driver.

So my question is, would I install the Dimmer2 inside my wall switch (so at 240v) to be able to dim the light, or do I install further up the line after the 12v transformer/driver?

    Hi SebMai

Thanks for the tip. I’m almost there now. Problem is that when I press the Shelly Button, all 3 lights turn on, but after a few seconds, lights 1 and 2 toggle state. They keep toggling every 5-10 seconds. Meanwhile The light connected to the button stays as it should (no toggle).

    Here’s my actions:

And the Button Type settings on the Shelly 1 inside the Shelly Button:

    Hi guys

Ive just finished wiring up my 3 cabinet lights, each with their own Shelly 1. They all work if I turn lights on/off via Shelly app.

Now I’ve introduced a Shelly Button into one of the circuits. It works great, however I would now like all 3 lights to switch on when I press this button, not just the light it has wired into it.

I guess this requires a Scene in order to control all 3 lights with this one button, but I’m not being able to figure out the config.

I have the Button Type set up as “Momentary”.

    Any advice?

    Hi guys.

Just bought some Shelly 1 to control my 12v cabinet lights. Each light has a driver/transformer, so I’d like to install the Shelly in front of the driver. That way I control the on/off for the lights over wifi.

My question is, how should I wire this?

I’ve tried L and N to the corresponding L and N on the Shelly, they output towards the driver via I (to L on driver ) and O (to N on driver). NO SUCCESS.

Any ideas? I basically want the 240v to go in and out of my Shelly 1 towards the driver.

    Many thanks

    👍🏻

    Hi guys

I have 3 cabinets with LED lights, all wired independently from each other. all LED lights have 12v drivers installed in line.

I now want to install a Shelly device in front of each 12v LED driver so that I can control the cabinet LED lights from my phone or via voice command (using HomeKit).

Is the Shelly 1 the best unit for this application? Also, given that there will be no switch installed (on/off will be controlled with Shelly), will I be able to avoid these lights turning on after a power outage? I’ve read these relays turn on after a power outage.

    Thanks guys!

    Hi guys

I am new to Shelly products so please bear with me. :)

I have 2 ceiling (LED) lamps in my dining room, both connected to my traditional (mechanical) 2-gang wall switch.

I would like to us Shelly Dimmer 2 module to add some dimming functionality to my lamps. So I have some questions:

    1. Will I need 2 Shelly Dimmer 2 modules (one for each lamp) or will 1 Shelly module work for both lamps?

    2. Can I use the Shelly Dimmer 2 with any standard or touch dimmer wall switches? I don’t like the rotary ones, prefer the press-and-hold (spring button type) or glass touch type dimmers. Any advice on a good 2-gang dimmer that has been proven to work with my setup would be much appreciated.

    3. Could I pair the Shelly Dimmer 2 in this setup with a smart dimmer switch like lutron caseta?

    Many thanks
