  • External Switch (Garage) not changing states

    I have configured a Shelly 1 to control my garage door and wired the Shelly 1 switch in series with a reed switch (NO) to Gnd using a 24 VDC power supply from the motor controller.

    1. Button type: Detached Switch

    2. Power on default: Off

    3. Timer: Auto Off after 2 sec.

    4. Input state: ON (and this woks correctly showing the reed switch closed/open)

    5. Appliance type: Relay

    6. External Switch: Enable/Garage

    7. Firmware Version: 20220209-092750/v1.11.8

    The issue is that the display shows the garage door always open or closed if I reverse it. The Power Button Input State will show the correct colors. I set it up green when closed and red when open, but the door icon never updates

    Any suggestions? or is this a firmware issue?

  • How to read the exported CSV file

    The times are all UTC for the downloaded data. The times from the app are your local time. If you want to know the consumption in Watts for a given period, just add them. However, there is --in my case, small error. I have compared my old Eyedro with my new EM3 against the daily meter reading at midnight. This is what I got so far:

  • 3EM installation and App Suggestions

    I installed my 3EM last week. The only way to install it is accessing the web portal, NOT thorough the app. The device itself is very nice. I installed it inside my electric cabinet with a 4-way breaker. The voltage and the amperage reported seems correct when I measure them with my Fluke.

    The App is a different story. It is very basic and it takes, at least three, clicks to see any data. You only have two options, to see the sensor and its data or see a consumption screen, and then another click away and you can see the power trends.

    The only way to download data is though the web portal. However, the data is Wh or Energy and the time is UTC

    Suggestions:

    • Be able to download ALL the data, not just Energy
    • The App needs to be more 3EM specific. There are a lot of options that do not make any sense.
    • Ability to configure rates in different tiers, so in the “main” display screen I can see today power and rate consumption with cost to date.
    • Under the “Live” data, ability to trend ALL the parameters individually (W, V, A, PF) with different span periods. If possible, it will be nice to also display the voltage between phases.
    • Ability to trend my bills with different span periods
    • Ability to configure reports (daily, weekly, monthly, etc) that will be email to me

  • Line Voltage vs Phase Voltage

    What is the correct calculation for the Line Voltage? The 3EM calculates the Phase Voltage, the Power, the Current and the Power Factor. I would also like to see the voltage between phases. V(a)*Sqrt(3) is off and I am not sure what is missing. Any solutions will be great!
