Thank you, now I understand. Is the Shelly1 also potential free? Would this work in the same way?

Hello Wolfgang and thank you for the response
Please see below, I am trying to open/close the solenoid valve manually with the app. After reading a few other posts I realize the the Uni may well not be able to supply enough current to power the solenoid. My meter shows 0.0 whatever configurations I see to try, possibly because I have now cooked my shelly by trying to draw more current than it can supply?
fortunately I have a spare. Maybe I can try that without the solenoid to see if I can see the voltage across the outputs. Assuming so I probably need a relay on the output which is able to supply the necessary current.
Am I trying to use the Uni is the correct way, or have I maybe misunderstood?
Thanks again.
Craig
EDIT - I just tried the same thing (without the load) on my other Shelly and I see no voltage across the outputs when switching on/off via the app.

Hello
I seem to be struggling with a very basic setup on the Shelly Uni. I have it powered with 24 VAC (pins 1 and 2). I have it hooked up to to Shelly Cloud with no problems, registered on my network and mobile App.
I have a 24VAC solenoid wired up to OUT1 and I am trying to open/close the solenoid using the App. I have tried changing the button type to 'Detatched' and 'Toggle', neither seem to achieve what I am trying to do. I have checked the voltage on both outputs - I was expecting to see 24VAC on at least one but don't see any voltage at all on either of the outputs.
I suspect I am trying to use the Uni incorrectly. Can anyone point me in the right direction pls?
Thanks!
