Hi,
FYI: last change I made is to use the fixed IP setting in the Shelly EM device itself instead of setting this in the router. This made the device accessible and it now works nicely in Home Assistant via CoIoT.
Hi gfyet,
I am planning on doing the same thing. However, can't get the Shelly up and running yet.
For other devices using energy, I notice that only the total is listed. I think that home assistant will take a snapshot every x period and stores that to calculate usage over time. The Energy dashboard shows usage nicely.
In the settings - energy, you can add the energy returned in the solar production section.
Kind regards,
Robert
To add:
- moved the Shelly next to the router to avoid a bad signal (although it is only 6 meters apart)
- gave the MAC address a fixed IP in the router
- disabled CoIoT on the Shelly (although I would need this to connect to Home Assistant later on)
Hi,
I just bought my first Shelly device, the Shelly EM. Connected it to power and attached the 50A clamp.
Wifi access point was nicely created and connection without issues. Going to 192.168.33.1 is smooth.
However, when I change the wifi mode to client and fill the details and push save, the connection is slow. So slow that the browser times out.
I tried a few things like:
- set the wifi router from auto channel to channel 8
- tried bandwidths 20 and 40 instead of auto 20/40
- turned off home assistant that is on the same network to avoid any CoIoT traffic
Is there a specific setting I should use in the AP or in the Shelly EM device?
Thanks,
Robert
