Hi,
replying to this thread as my question is very similar (as opposed to starting a new one). Complete novice with Shelly products but like the OP I want to use an em device to monitor my whole house electric usage. I've attached a couple of photos of my (very dated) main box and fuse panel.
1. Will a 50amp clamp be sufficient?
2. How can I power the em device? I'm not a sparky and frankly anything to do with electricity is a bit daunting.
3. I have a power socket nearby (within 7 metres) and would be happy to wire a plug with a 7m dual core cable. Is that a suitable/advised way of powering the device.
4. What amp plug would i need? I assume a 3amp for such a low power usage device.
5. Which of the cables coming into/out of the meter should i connect the clamp to?
Many thanks in advance for any replies.
