I clearly need a 2.5 as the motor has two phases - one for opening and one for closing.
EDIT: Aha! Now after you mentioned it, I realize I can wire the shelly 1 to the "button" (NO) terminals on the board. This route is what you had in mind suggesting the one instead of a 2.5, right?

Hi!
A little help with wiring a 2.5 to control a sliding gate please? Crucially I need to keep the functionality of the hardware endstop (limit) switch. So how do I wire the Shelly in a roller mode where it keeps track of positions and everything?
It's a RF433 controlled board and a remote that operates like so: start-stop-close-stop

but 1.1.10 < 1.5.10 ...no? And I already tried with 1.1.10 without any luck....

Try to update on a lower firmware first.
There is no lower than 1.1.10 ...is there?
btw, can you please confirm that shelly plug model S171 (the device i have) corresponds to fw code shplg2-1?

I have the exact same problem with a couple of shelly plugs. I did try going back all the way to v1.1.10 with no luck. Seemingly the firmware is being installed, the device reboots, but it is inevitably stuck at 20170502-134728/master@3101efe1+
What's up with that?!
