also if you a 2.5 or 2pm you could do the same but control it all in HA. Wire the active of the sensor into sw1 and the lights into output 2 .

just wire the active of the output of the sensor to the switch of the shelly. Then wire the output of the shelly to the active of the lights. That way the sensor will still control the lights but you will be able to see it home assistant. I wouldnt be using the sensor to power the shelly as you would probably find you will get constant errors in HA when the device goes offline as well lots of other issues.

The only issue I have had similar to that I fixed by factory reseting the shelly then reloading the firmware.

Devices should be auto discovered, if not press set up an other instance
and enter ip address of device were it says host.

you not have to enter a user name or password anywhere.
Have you configured the device to the same network as HA

This is the inrush current of my fridge connected to +1pm with an rc Snubber. It generally peaks out at around 5 x Full Load Current. With Shellies protection enabled in theory by using this chart if the fridge was an 800w load it would cause the Shelly to go out on over current / voltage on some start ups.
I am currently bench testing all different kinds of pumps/motors and appliances on several different shelly devices .
Based on the evidence i have obtained so far any inductive load over 700w i would be switching through a contactor.

I just received a couple more 1+pm's today and I noticed in the channel settings the input output setting and invert input are not there.
"I reloaded the devices today and these options are now available. "

Apparently the i just powered the whole town for 20 seconds.
Good to see it can survive 978 Amps.

I have done all of the above as well and still getting just the black box.
RobvdB were they auto discovered for you, or did you have to put in Ip.
"Finally working now. I believe it may of been the manual reset that got it to work for me"

is there a difference between patience and frustration

I did that and yes it fixed the cloud issue but I dont use the cloud. Its the other issue stated above which is still not allowing devices to be discovered by home assistant.

Any update on this.
I have not heard from support in a week and it has been 2 weeks since the devices arrived at my door and they are still not usable.
