Ah, ok. After some searching I could find some changelogs there for 2.2.1 and previous version, but without a facebook account and the constant nagging to create one the experience was not very pleasant. In the comments there I notices that other people regulalry ask for documentation on changes between versions there, too.
With https://shelly-api-docs.shelly.cloud Shelly already has such a great website with documentation and version history for the gen1 & gen2 devices. I should be relatively easy to add a section with change logs for the "gen1.5" devices.

The reasons you mentioned only explain why changes in the firmware of these devices are not documented in neither the gen1 nor the gen2 change log, but question why these changes are not published in any official channel still stands.

Currently users have to either wait for others to find changes and write about them here or elsewhere or run tests themself to make sure a firmware update is compatible with the local setup and does not lead to regressions, both is not ideal.

I'm sure Shelly keeps track of changes between versions internally and there is no good reason to keep this information from their customers.

Unfortunately it seems the change log in the API-Reference you linked to has not received any updates for a while. For example, my Shelly TRVs currently runs v2.2.1 and wants to update to 2.2.2, while the latest documented version in the changelog is still v1.14...

@shelly staff: Is there any place where firmware updates, change logs, changes in availability, etc are announced in an official and easy to browse way?

Changelog announcements on shelly.cloud website seem to have stopped some time in end of 2020 after v1.9...

Things I did before I found the info about 3EM buried in some facebook comments:

* double check for update in shelly web interface

* confusion

* come here and find week old screenshot of a changes post

* check for firmware update in shelly web interface again

* extract json-url for update announcements from shelly logs

* notice that right now for SHEM-3 no firmware is announced at all via json update channel

* more confusion

* come back here, notice that the screenshot is from facebook because of file name

* search for post at facebook

* find a random question about 3EM update trouble in the comments under said post

* find Dimitars reply that 3EM updates have being pulled temporarily

I applaud the response time since the question on facebook was answered in <20min, but I also hope there is an easier way to find out about things like that, that I am not aware of.

An easy to find item in the support or knowledge-base sections of shelly.cloud over random facebook and forum posts would be my preference.
